BACKGROUND Kc JUSTIFICATION:
the Alaska Highway Safety Ullice, AHSO, has rcyucsted that the City of Seward continue to
participate in the Alaska Strategic Tralftc Enforcement Partnership, ASTk:P, Scatbelt Overtime
Fnfixcemcnt carrtpaign by providing overtime saturation patrols. During selected holidays, the blib.
campaign, arrd assigned weekends, the Seward Police Department will conduct high-visibility
Seatbelt cniorcernent patrols. AHSO has awarded a grant in the amount of $1,299.60 for (hluber,
Noventhcr and Dcccrnber 2007.
This program is a lUU% grant funded proscct, with ao local matching funds required

INTENT:
fhe intent ofthis grant is intendul to reduce deaths and injuries by increasing compliance with
