RESOLUTION 2003-122
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING RULE 16 OF THE CITY COUNCIL RULES OF
PROCEDURES, RELATING TO A CHANGE IN THE MONTH THAT
SALARY NEGOTIATIONS WOULD TAKE PLACE FOR THE CITY
CLERK AND CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, the City Clerk's office has reviewed Rule 16 of the City Council Rules of
Procedures; and due to recent changes in budget deadlines, would like to amend the wording
regarding the month in which the City Clerk and City Manager salary negotiations take place; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk's offices wishes to amend Rule 16 of the City Council Rules of
Procedures to appear as follows (strike out - deletions, bold italics = additions):
Rule 16. The City Council shall evaluate the performance ofthe City Attorney, the City Clerk and
the City Manager semi-annually on or before March 15th and September 15th, At the March
September 15th evaluation, the Council shall negotiate the salary for the Clerk and Manager so that
this salary can be reflected in the budget adopted in Jtm:e December. At each evaluation, the Council
shall set goals and priorities for its appointed officials. The City Clerk shall provide the necessary
blank evaluation forms to the Council no later than February 15th and August 15th. The Mayor shall
then appoint a member of the Council to receive the completed forms and tabulate the results prior to
the formal evaluation sessions with the appointed officials, [See Appendix A-4 for Manager/Clerk
Evaluation Form and Appendix A-5 for Attorney Evaluation Form.]
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA that:
Section 1. The City Clerk's office amends Rule 16 ofthe City Council Rules of Procedures
to appear as follows:

The City Clerks office has reviewed the City Council Rules of Procedures and found a
