CALL TO ORDER
The November 2, 2016 regular meeting of the Port and Commerce Advisory Board was
called to order at 12:05 p.m. by Chair Darryl Schaefermeyer,
OPENING CEREMONY
Ron Long led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Harbormaster Report — Report was given electronically
Administration Report- Ron Long welcomed the board members old and new back. Long reported
that the beach erosion project had been completed. Snow river repair project has been completed
now is the time to look for a complete fix for the project. City hall carpet and abatement project is
completed.

Other New Business
Review of Seward Comp Plan review
General discussion was given with Board reviewing the Plan in a whole. With decision to finish
review at the November 16, 2016 work session Terry would like to have the economic value be
closer to the community values. Terry requested that a work session be made. Board would like
to have the all citizens to participate on all government/ comprehensive plan boards and
decisions.
Live A Board Policy and Application
Board had a general discussion of the Live a Board policy. Board discussed the opportunity for
administration to present a draft seasonal policy for them to review. Harbormaster Norm Regis
will contact other harbors to ask about their policies. Deputy Harbormaster Matt Chase
explained that the city of Ketchikan has a live a hoard policy regarding holding tanks that maybe
they could use toward the draft options.

BOARD COMMENTS
Hughes- welcomed board member Lawrence
Andrews- would like to have the USCG participate in a local meeting to snake the community aware
Linville- asked Regis where fresh water was located in the Harbor during the winter months
Lawrence- is happy to be on the board and is looking forward to working with everyone.
Schaefermeyer- Welcomed board member Lawrence. He also wanted everyone to know that the
SeaLife center is doing a national oil training.
