CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 80-3
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF SEWARD SUBSTATION TRANSFORMERS, 69KV CIRCUIT
SWITCHERS, AND VACUUM CIRCUIT RECLOSERS
WHEREAS, the voters of Seward on October 2, 1979 approved
Proposition No. 1 for the expansion of the Seward Electric System; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the monies approved for the expansion
of the electric system was to be spent for the construction of a new
substation; and
WHEREAS, to meet construction schedule and completion of the
substation by the fall of 1980 it is necessary to purchase "long lead"
equipment to assure satisfactory delivery; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has advertised, received and
publicly opened bids for the above equipment at 2:00 p.m. on December 11,
1979; and
WHEREAS, at the recommendation of our engineer, CH2M Hill, they
suggest awarding the following contract:
A. Two (2) Substation Transformers with load Tap
Changers - General Electric Co.
Total Cost: $296,959.00
B. Two (2) 69KV Circuit Switchers - S & C Electric Co.
Total Cost: $ 39,634.76
C. Six (6) Vacuum Circuit Reclosers
Westinghouse Electric Co.
Total Cost: $ 62,644.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that the City of Seward hereby accepts the bids of
General Electric Co. for Two Substation Transformers, S & C Electric Co.
for Two 69KV Circuit Switchers, and from Westinghouse Electric Supply Co.
for Six Vacuum Circuit Reclosers for the amount and terms as bid on
December 11, 1979.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 14th day of January , 1980.
