Subject: revised Seward Organizational Chart

Hi again,
Rissie recommended placing the Commissions and Boards above their respective departments. I assume their
recommendations flow thru the departments to the City and public.
At her suggestion, I also added Bed tax collection, and payroll under Finance.
Does Risk Management belong under Finance?
Revised version attached.
Any other suggestions?
Carol
Hi Council,
I'm surprised that the current City of Seward's Organizational Chart was approved in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan; it is
incomplete and poorly organized. Not what you want for an organizational chart!
So in an effort to improve it, I took a shot at revising it.
I added Assistant City Manager under City Manager as that position was oddly, not shown.
I also added Human Resources under City Manager as that position too, was missing. My Google research showed that
was the most common placement.
I separated Building inspection from Fire, and kept both under Public Safety.
I organized Jail and Animal Control under Police.
I moved the Boards and Commissions under their respective departments:
Planning and Zoning Commission under Community Development
Historic Preservation under Library& Museum
Port and Commerce Advisory Board under Harbor
Attached is the current chart from the Comp Plan, and my proposed revision.
I appreciate your feedback and consideration of this revision.
Best,
