***Blue Pipeline Incubator graduate Mike Irving and his company Alaska's Best Shellfish won the
49th State Angel Fund Pitchfest, at the Accelerate Alaska conference, for the Best Existing Pitch.
Congrats Mike & the Blue Pipeline!
Marias Saari is the new MMR Director—
Matias is among Alaska's most experienced race directors and accomplished mountain runners.
He currently directs the Tour of Anchorage, the Crow Pass Crossing and the Kesugi Ridge Traverse,
Frosty Bottom Marathon and Pioneer Ridge Vertical Mile.
He founded the still-existing Northern Trails Series in Fairbanks in 2008.
He won the 2009 MMRace and has seven Top-5 finishes. The only condition he had before accepting
the contract was that he continue to be allowed to run the race :)
Seward Chamber Board of Directors elections will be held electronically next month.

I'd like to thank you all for listening to my reports every month. I believe that the Council, City Admin
PACAB & the Chamber have worked together to accomplish so many beneficial projects over the
years that have added great value to our community. And although I'll never stop being a
cheerleader for Seward — I am retiring from the best job ever! The new Executive Director, Jason
Bickling, will take over on November 1st. It's been a pleasure!
