RESOLUTION NO. 172
BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, that
the following named persons are hereby appointed and shall act as Judges,
Clerks and as Inspector of Election at the Regular Municipal Election on
Tuesday, October 4, 1960, at Seward, Alaska. Said Municipal Election to
be held for the purpose of v oting for:
Three
One

One
(3) Counci1ll1en for two (2) year terms,
(1) School Board Member for five (5) year term,
(1) School Board Member for four (4) year term,
(1) School Board Member for two (2) year term, and
for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the City of
Seward the following Proposition:
PROPOSITION "A"
Shall the Seward Sales Tax Ordinance No. 267, as
amended, which now imposes a two per cent conswners'
sales tax be further amended to impose a three per
cent consumers' sales tax, all proceeds of such tax
to be used only for the purpose of providing addi-
tional funis for the construction and operation of
more adequate educational and public health facilities
and to provide for betterment of the schools and to
pay for school obligations; public health; and sanita-
tion, as authorized by Chapter 124 of the Session Laws
of the State of Alaska, 1960.
