January 2022 Chair Report
Reminder, 1/20/2022 Work Session for Edits of Standards and Guide IinesforHistoric Preservation, the
same reminder that Brenda sent out this morning.
Before I get to this next part of my report, I want to thank Brenda and Bailey for preparing our Work
Session Packets to include al I we need to get our Land Use Plan for our Historic Business District
developed and completed! O
This is coming up for Public Input on the 241h Council Meeting:
"Ordinance2022-002, Amendi ng Portions Of Seward City Code 15.10.140 Defi nitions, ToAmend The
Definition For Light Manufacturing, And To Amend 15.10.226 Land Uses Al lowed Table: Allowing Light
Manufacturing In A Central Business District With A Conditional Use Permit."
It is imperative that we get an Ordinance written or a Resolution (whichever is more powerful) for
both P&Z and the Council definingthe Historic Business District! In addition, at a latertime in the near
future a Land Use column to be added to P&Z's Land Use Table!
I encourage each of you, if you are able to, to make citizen comment atthat meeting requestingthe a
column forthe "Historic Business District Boundary be added tothe Land Use Table". With definitions of
land uses to fol low through the Seward Historic Preservation Commission, which is currently at work on
the definitions. With you permission I will make the same request asChairon behalf ofourcommission.
