RESOLUTION NO. 311
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council, on the 1st day of April. 1963.
sitting as a Board of Adjustment as provided by Sections 2.100 and 2.102
of the Seward Code of Ordinances, conducted a public hearing in the matter
of Notice to Abate or Correct Nuisance and Notice to Abate or Correct Fire
and Health Hazara regarding the building located on Lots 5 and 6, Block 15,
Original Townsite of Seward. Alaska. owned by Maurice T. Johnson; and
WHEREAS, all of the requirements of Sections 2.100 and 2.102 of said
Code have been carried out; and
WHEREAS, no written objections to the findings of the City Manager
in this matter. as posted on the property and as served upon Maurice T.
Johnson. were filed with the City Manager or otherwise made;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the findings and orders of the
Board of Adjustment are that (1) the above described property is found
to be a nuisance and a fire and health hazard; (2) that Maurice T. Johnson
be and he is hereby ORDERED to abate said nuisance and hazard by removal
or demolition within thirty (30) days from the date hereof; (3) that
Maurice T. Johnson be notified of these findings, orders and time limits
of the Board of Adjustment as set forth herein by service of a copy of
this Resolution upon him; and (4) that in the event said Maurice T.
Johnson does not comply fully with the orders of the Board of Adjustn~nt
as set forth herein, that the City Manager is hereby instructed and
ordered to take proper steps. under Section 2.105 of the Seward Code of
Ordinances, to carry out the requirements of this Resolution and the
Code of Ordinances, which also provide that the cost of said abatement
will be chargeable against the property, first against the salvaged
material, which n~y be sold at public auction. and the balance of cost,
if any, against the land, to become a lien thereon. the same as real

property taxes levied by the City of Seward.
This Resolution to be in full force and effect iu~diately upon
passage and approval.
Passed and approved by The Common Council of the City of Seward
sitting as a Board of Adjustluent this 1st day of April. 1963.
