BE IT RESOLVED that the real property tax on leasehold
interest owned by Seward Fish (~ Cold Storage Co., Inc. in con-
nection with its lease of the San Juan Dock facility from che
City of Seward, and for which the first and original assess-
ment computations have been made by the City Assessor subse-
quent to the preparation of the Original and First Supplemental
Tax Eolls for 1962-63 and which is therefore included in the
Second Supplemental Tax Roll for 1962-6), be exempted from the
established delinquency date for said Tax Roll, and that for
this one Tax ~oll only, the tax shall be considered co be paid
timely if the entire tax is paid on or before the 20th day of
April, 1964. If che entire tax is not paid on or before the
20th day of April, 1964, lO~ penalty plus 8; per annwn inter-
est until paid shall be charged.
The above exemption is provided for for the reason that
the computation of said tax is the responsibility of the City,
and though the taxpayer was advised of the existence of taxable
leasehold interest, due to time consuming technical require-
ments to correctly establish the taxable value, taxpayer was
not provided a tax bill at the time all other real property
tax bills were provided.
This Resolution to be in l"ull force and effect immedi-
ately upon passaGe and approval. Passed and approved by the
Common Council of the City of Seward this~ay of February,
1964.
