RESOLUTION' NO. 465
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council sitting as a Board of
Adjustments hereby agrees to the offer of Ralph and/or Ruth
Andrews as set forth in a letter from their Attorney,
Mr. Allen L. Jewell, dated August 26, 1965 providing for the
demolition of the Alaska House to commence on May 1, 1966
and to be completed on or before August 1, 1966 except that
the Board of Adjustments requires that the use of the second
story of this building situated on Lot 23, Block 16 of the
Original Townsite in the City of Seward, Alaska, as a rooming
house and/or apartment building be discontinued immediately;
the City Attorney is hereby instructed to prepare such an
agreement, and making clear that the Andrews agree that
..
should they fail to perform their part of the agreement des-
cribed in said August 16, 1965 letter and this Resolution,
that the City will commence demolition of the building under
its ordinances and Resolution No. 424 without further notice
on May 2, 1966 in the event demolition is not commenced on
or before May 1, 1966 or the City will commence demolition
on August 1, 1966 in the event the demolition is commenced
on or before May 1, 1966 but is not completed on or before
August 1, 1966; and the City Manager and Cit y Clerk-Treasurer
are hereby instructed to execute and deliver same.
For recording purposes, reference is made to Resolution No.
424 passed and approved by the City Council sitting as a Board
of Adjustments in this matter on January 18, 1965 and contain-
ing its Findings of Fact and Orders.
This Resolution to be in full force and effect immediately

upon passage and approval. Passed and approved this
day of September, 1965.
