HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1966-524 r~ THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 524 WHEREAS, the road known as the Airport Road, and serving the City Dock, the City of Seward tidelands industrial develop- ment area, and the Alaska Railroad Dock, intersects the eastern boundary of Alaska Route 31: and WHEREAS, the present intersection is an oblique angle which creates a blind corner and is therefore dangerous: and WHEREAS, the present intersection is in such a location and is laid out in such a way as to be very difficult to use, especially for truck traffic, which is the major part of the traffic on this roadway: and WHEREAS, the present intersection creates a very difficult condition for development of the land around the Seward Municipal Small Boat Harbor: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the State of Alaska, Department of Highways, be and is hereby urgently requested to revise the location of the intersection of the above named highways by moving the road serving the Seward City Dock and the Alaska Railroad Dock to the North through Porcupine Hill so that the intersection will be a right angle, will thereby provide clear vision of the roadway, and will permit full de- velopment of the city of Seward harbor industrial area to secure the utmost utilization of that valuable shoreline.
