HomeMy WebLinkAbout11252024 City Council Laydown - Jaffa LetterSeward Council, 11.25.24 PACAB We will plan a report in December for 2024 activity. Discussion on PACAB Priorities as addressed in the Code will begin and any issue the council would suggest is welcome. We have begun to dig into possible efficient heat sources that could benefit residents and the City Utility. As a subgroup to PACAB the Heat loop Committee met and with 6 members all were enthusiastic to continue the effort to find a way to construct cutting edge, ecofriendly and value benefit Library Heat system. We hope to utilize some of the good work already complete and find a professional way to move forward. The Assistant City Manager may have more on that. Along with consideration of energy efficiency I again suggest that the current City Building could greatly benefit from a new energy efficient exterior. Once a new Police building is constructed a revamp of City Hall seems like an obvious goal. Your task with the Budget shows how committed you all are to Seward. In my life and as Carole and I built our business it was always important to understand our limits. Spending more than we had would certainly cause problems down the road. First national Bank was a great partner but Public spending is different in some ways. The same for both is deficit spending or reduction in a reserve without careful well vetted consideration is always bad policy.
