TolE CITY OF SEWARD
RESOLUTION NO. 584
WHEREAS, the dog populatj_on of the Seward area has become very large and
al?parel1t~y ma."lY of these dogs are wild dogs without owners or homes; and
WHEREAS, numerous citizens have complained to the City that the situation
is a nuisance and a hazard to the safety of all persons and particularly
hazardous to the safety of small ch.ndre~; and
WHEREAS, n~r.nerous ~itizcns have complained to the City of damage to their
pets by packs of dogs; and
WHEREAS, any dog ~ontrol program requires the understanding and
cooperation of the public to be successful;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the period from November 28, 1966
through December 10, 1966 be and hereby is declared to be an INTENSIVE
DOG CONTP"oL Ar."'D LICENC>ING TDolE when all dogs at large will be impounded
pending satisfaction of the City's complaint to the Magistrate Court
under Ordin:w.ce No. 352; and
BE IT FURTHER IlESOLVED that the public be advised that assistance in
this mTENSIVE DOG CO~:Tr..OL AND LICENSING TIME can be given to the City
by keeping pets on ownervs private pra~ses at all times or on a leash
when off ownervs premiseo, and also by purchasing the required license;
and
BE IT FURTHER PESOLVED that the public be advised that the dog control
ordL~ance is posted on the City Hall bulletin board at all times for
general info~aticn ~~d that copies may be ~~~"~ed at City Hall; and
BE IT FURTHER PESc:--mD that all citizens shall be informed of this
mTENSIVE DOG CONTROL AND LICENSING TIME and their cooperation
sL~cerely requested by widest possible publicity of this Resolution.
This Resolution to be effective on the date of passage and approval.
