~~ the Seward Centennial Committee has requested the City to sell at nominal
sum a parcel of land which the Seward Centennial Committee would then use as the

prize in a ~ for the pUTpose of raising money for the Seward Centennial
activities oniy; and '
~~ the Seward Centennial Committee will operate on a non-profit basis under
the auspices of the Sewa,rd Chamber of COIIlDlerce to promote and operate the Alaska
Centennial Celebration in Seward to the best interest of the community; and
~nmREAS it is essential for such Committee to have operating funds to commence
the Centennial Celebration activities and to support those activities ,fbich will
not produce any revenue but may be considered essential to the Celebration;
NOH. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that Lot 4 in Block 8 of the Federal Addition to
The City of Seward. Alaska be and is hereby authorized for sale to the Seward
Centennial Committee for the nominal sum of twenty-five ($25.00) dollars for the
above reasona and pUTposes the same as if set forth herein with conveyance to be
not earlier than May 18. 1967; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the public hearing required by Ordinance No. 315
providtng for procedure whereby the City may sell real property be and ia hereby
waived; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of intention to sell sball be given to those
persons who have s right to repurchase said property as provided by Section 29.
10.528 snd Section 29.10.537 of tbe Alaska Statutes and applicable sections of tbe
Seward Code of Ordinances. and including notice that any repurchase must be accom-
pUshed on or before May 17. 1967; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that conveyance of this parcel sball be by statutory
warranty deed. a copy of wbich is attacbed hereto and is hereby made a part of
tbis resolution.
This resolution sball be published by posting a copy tbereof on the bulletin board
at City Hall and on the bulletin board at the U.S. Post Office in The City of
Seward and by p.bUshing a brief statement of tbe pUTpose of said resolution in
a newspaper of general circulation in The City of Seward within a reasonable time;
and shall become effective tbirty (30) days thereafter. The City Council hereby
waives any and all irregularities in this transaction.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, our proud and beautiful State is celebrating its first centen-
nial anniversary and has invited all who will to celebrate this occa-
sion with \18' and
WHEREAS, the beauty of the land is everywhere evident, the things we
people build and use and leave behind when we move on are sometimes in
need of care, change or removal: and
WHEREAS. the appearance of our community truly represents the quality
of our welcome to our visitors; and
WHEREAS, a clean, neat community makes a lasting impression upon young
people and instills good personal and communal habits: and
WHEREAS. fine work has been accomplished in previous years, much
remains to be done to reach our goal of making Seward into the most
beautify Alaskan city:
NOW, THEREFORE, I. RICHARD W. KIRKPATRICK, Mayor of The City of Seward,
Alaska, do hereby proclaim the month of May in the year 1967 to be
CLEAN-UP, PAINT-UP, FIX-UP MONTH in the City of Seward, and request all
citizens to wholeheartedly join in this work for their personal benefit
and for the improvement of the community.
