ADJOURNMENT 2025 CITY OF SEWARD REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION FILING DATES & ELECTED OFFICES TO BE FILLED NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that any qualified voter living within the Seward city limits for at least one year prior to August 15, 2025 may file a declaration of candidacy for Council Member or Mayor that will be voted upon at the Regular Municipal Election on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The Council Member seats currently held by Kevin Finch and Randy Wells will be available. The seat of the Mayor, currently held by Sue McClure, will also be available. All terms are for three years and will expire in October 2028. Candidate filing packets will be available in the office of the City Clerk, or may be downloaded from the city website. Completed candidate packets must be filed in person with the City Clerk from Friday, August 1, 2025 through Friday, August 15, 2025 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. [excluding weekends] Questions concerning candidate filing or any other aspect of the election should be directed to the city clerk’s office at 224-4007. Box 167, Seward, AK 99664, or e-mailed to clerk@cityofseward.net City of Seward - Council Calendar Page 4 of 4 Posted on July 23, 2025, at City Hall, Post Office, Harbormaster, Seward Community Library, and online at www.cityofseward.us BOARDS & COMMISSIONS VACANCIES Historic Preservation Commission City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission. There is one seat available on the commission. This term is set to expire May 2028. The commission meets four times a year, typically on a designated Thursday in January, May, September, and November. Application forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk and on the city website at www.cityofseward.us. Port & Commerce Advisory Board (PACAB) City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on PACAB. There is one seat available for a resident inside city limits with a term expiring in July 2026. PACAB meets on the third Wednesday of each month at noon. There are no PACAB meetings during the months of June, July, and August. There are also two seats expiring at the end of July 2025. Appointments for these 3-year terms will be made at the July 28, 2025 City Council meeting.
