Council directed administration to come up with a plan to make access points for Narcan. The Council Member seats currently held by Kevin Finch and Randy Wells will be available. The seat of the Mayor, currently held by Sue McClure, will also be available. All terms are for three years and will expire in October 2028. Candidate filing packets are available in the office of the City Clerk, or may be downloaded from the city website. Completed candidate packets must be filed in person with the City Clerk from Friday, August 1, 2025 through Friday, August 15, 2025 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. [excluding weekends] Questions concerning candidate filing or any other aspect of the election should be directed to the City Clerk at kpeck@cityofseward.net or (907) 224-4007 City of Seward - Council Calendar Page 3 of 5 Posted on August 13, 2025, at City Hall, Post Office, Harbormaster, Seward Community Library, and online at www.cityofseward.us NOTICE OF VOTER REGISTRATION FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, there will be a municipal election held in City Hall in Seward, Alaska in accordance with Seward City Code, Title 4. VOTER REGISTRATION As provided by AS 15.07.070, a person is qualified to vote who is or will be at the time of the election: • A citizen of the United States; and • An Alaska resident; and • 18 years of age or will be 18 on election day; and • A resident of the city for at least thirty (30) days before an election; and • Not be registered to vote in another state unless you are willing to cancel your registration in that state; and • Registered to vote on or before the registration deadline; and not be registered to vote in any other jurisdiction; and • Not be a convicted felon involving moral turpitude, unless your voting rights have been restored. The deadline for residents to register to vote or update their voter registration is Sunday, September 7, 2025. Note: To register in person with the city clerk, please come to the office no later than Friday, September 5, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. and bring a photo ID. Box 167, Seward, AK 99664, or e-mailed to clerk@cityofseward.net BOARDS & COMMISSIONS VACANCIES City of Seward - Council Calendar Page 4 of 5 Posted on August 13, 2025, at City Hall, Post Office, Harbormaster, Seward Community Library, and online at www.cityofseward.us Historic Preservation Commission City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission. The commission meets four times a year, typically on a designated Thursday in January, May, September, and November. There is one seat available on the commission with a term set to expire May 2028. At least four seats shall be filled by residents inside Seward city limits. If there are no city residents applying, council may consider filling the seats with non-residents. Application forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk and on the city website at www.cityofseward.us. Port & Commerce Advisory Board (PACAB) City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on PACAB. The board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at noon. There are no PACAB meetings during the months of June, July, and August. There is one seat available with a term expiring in July 2026. There is one seat available with a term expiring in July 2028. At least four seats shall be filled by residents inside Seward city limits. If there are no city residents applying, council may consider filling the seats with non-residents.
