City Council Meeting Action Agenda Results from Monday, September 22, 2025 The following ordinances were introduced: Introduction of Ordinance 2025-014: Amending Seward City Code §15.10.140 Definitions for Animal Shelter and Veterinary Hospital and §15.10.226 Land Uses Allowed Table for Veterinary Hospital Introduction of Ordinance 2025-015: Amending Seward City Code Chapter §15.20 – Signs Introduction of Ordinance 2025-016: Amending Seward City Code §15.10.140 Definitions for Dwelling, Apartment, Commercial Building and Mixed-Use Development and Table §15.10.226 Land Uses Allowed for Dwelling, Apartment in a Commercial Building The following resolutions were approved: Resolution 2025-092: Authorizing the City Manager to Accept the Proposal with Globelink Telecom for Radio Tower Maintenance and Ladder Installation in the Amount of $34,500 and Appropriating Funds Resolution 2025-093: Authorizing the City Manager to Purchase Playground Equipment from Northwest Playgrounds in the Amount of $22,487 Resolution 2025-094: Authorizing the City Manager to Accept and Appropriate Community Assistance Program Funds in the Amount of $192,239.30 for the Purpose of Capital Projects Related to Fire, Public Safety, and Road Maintenance Resolution 2025-095: Authorizing the City Manager to Accept Funds from the State of Alaska Division of Libraries, Archives & Museums Grant-in-Aid Program for the Seward Museum Exhibit Reader Rails Project Other Items: The September 8, 2025 City Council Meeting Minutes were approved. Council directed City Administration to draft a list of paving priorities for a discussion item. City of Seward - Council Calendar Page 2 of 3 Posted on September 24, 2025, at City Hall, Post Office, Harbormaster, Seward Community Library, and online at www.cityofseward.us UPCOMING MEETINGS City Council Work Session Monday, October 13, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. City Council Chambers Topic: Electric Utility update that highlights a town hall recap and infrastructure project update City Council Meeting Monday, October 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. City Council Chambers ABSENTEE IN-PERSON VOTING FOR THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION The Absentee In-Person Voting for the Regular Municipal Election is available on weekdays as follows: Dates: Monday, September 22, 2025 thru Monday, October 6, 2025 Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Location: City Hall Council Chambers 410 Adams Street Ballots available: City of Seward and Kenai Peninsula Borough Tuesday, October 7, 2025 is Election Day and the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Location: City Hall Council Chambers 410 Adams Street BOARDS & COMMISSIONS VACANCIES Historic Preservation Commission City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission. The commission meets four times a year, typically on a designated Thursday in January, May, September, and November. There is one seat available on the commission with a term set to expire May 2028. At least four seats shall be filled by residents inside Seward city limits. If there are no city residents applying, council may consider filling the seats with non-residents. Port & Commerce Advisory Board (PACAB) City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on PACAB. The board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at noon. There are no PACAB meetings during the months of June, July, and August. There is one seat available with a term expiring in July 2026 There is one seat available with a term expiring in July 2028 At least four seats shall be filled by residents inside Seward city limits. If there are no city residents applying, council may consider filling the seats with non-residents.
