There were no grounds for protest to the AMCO liquor license renewal for Firebrand BBQ An Executive Session was held for continued deliberation of Board of Adjustment Appeal Hearing and consideration of finds of fact and conclusions of law. [Appeal of Planning & Zoning Approval of Resolution 2025-035 Granting a Conditional Use Permit to the Tufted Puffin LLC to Operate a Drive-Thru Window to Sell Retail Cannabis Products and Non - Cannabis Food and Beverage Items from their Business Located at 408 Port Avenue within an Auto Commercial (AC) Zoning District] The written findings were unanimously approved and the Mayor stated that the Board of Adjustment had upheld the Planning & Zoning decision, plus added three modifications. The city clerk was directed to post the written findings on the city website and send to the parties involved. ADJOURNMENT UPCOMING MEETINGS Planning & Zoning Commission Regular Meeting Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. City Council Chambers PUBLIC HEARINGS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission will conduct public hearings on the following items of business at a regular meeting on February 3, 2026: Resolution 2026-002 of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Seward Alaska, recommending City Council amend Seward City Code §15.10.140 Definitions and §15.10.226 Land Uses Allowed to incorporate regulations for a mobile health unit Public hearing documents are available for review at the City Hall. The public hearing will be held during the meetings in the Council Chambers at City Hall at 410 Adams Street. All interested persons are invited to attend the meetings and participate in the discussion. BOARDS & COMMISSIONS VACANCIES Planning & Zoning Commission City Council is seeking applications from residents inside city limits interested in serving on the Planning & Zoning Commission. There are two seats expiring at the end of February 2026. City Council will be making the new appointments at the February 23, 2026 council meeting. The new terms are for the full 3 years and will take effect March 1, 2026. Planning & Zoning holds regular meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and work sessions the third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. or at other times as needed. Commissioners shall be compensated for service at the rate of $100 per month. Application forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk and on the city website at www.cityofseward.us. City of Seward - Council Calendar Page 4 of 4 Posted on January 28, 2026, at City Hall, Post Office, Harbormaster, Seward Community Library, and online at www.cityofseward.us Historic Preservation Commission City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission. The commission meets four times a year, typically on a designated Thursday in January, May, September, and November. There is one seat available on the commission with a term set to expire May 2028. At least four seats shall be filled by residents inside Seward city limits. If there are no city residents applying, council may consider filling the seats with non-residents. Port & Commerce Advisory Board (PACAB) City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on PACAB. The board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at noon. There are no PACAB meetings during the months of June, July, and August. There is one seat available with a term expiring in July 2026 and one seat available with a term expiring in July 2028. At least four seats shall be filled by residents inside Seward city limits. If there are no city residents applying, council may consider filling the seats with non-residents.
