The following resolution had a public hearing and was approved:
Resolution 2026-003 of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Seward, Alaska, granting a
conditional use permit to Robert Williams and Travis Maurer for the construction of a seventeen-unit multi-family
residential structure, including approval of a building height of up to forty-eight (48) feet, on Tract 5B-2, Forest
Acres Subdivision, Seward Gateway Properties, located at 2405 Seward Highway, within an Auto Commercial
(AC) zoning district [amended]
Other items:
Clare Sullivan was selected as Chair for a one-year period.
Brenan Hornseth was selected as Vice Chair for a one-year period.
The February 3, 2026 Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes were approved.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Seward City Council will conduct a public hearing on the following item
of business at a regular meeting on Monday, April 13, 2026:
Resolution 2026-034: Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate the Terms for Conveying a Portion of City
Cemetery Property to the Qutekcak Native Tribe
Resolution 2026-035: Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a New Lease Agreement with Cordova Telecom
Cooperative for Installation of a High-Speed Submarine Fiber-Optic Cable Across City Owned Tideland Along
the Waterfront
Public hearing documents are available for review at the City Hall. The public hearing will be held during the
meetings in the Council Chambers at City Hall at 410 Adams Street. All interested persons are invited to attend
the meetings and participate in the discussion.
BOARDS & COMMISSIONS VACANCIES
Planning & Zoning Commission
City Council is seeking applications from residents inside city limits interested in serving on the Planning & Zoning
Commission. There is one seat available with a term set to expire February 2028. City Council will be making the
new appointment at the April 13, 2026 council meeting.
Planning & Zoning holds regular meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and work sessions the
third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. or at other times as needed.
Commissioners shall be compensated for service at the rate of $100 per month. Application forms are available in
the Office of the City Clerk and on the City Council Meetings webpage.
Historic Preservation Commission
City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission.
The commission meets four times a year, typically on a designated Thursday in January, May, September, and
November. There is one seat available on the commission with a term set to expire May 2028. At least four seats
shall be filled by residents inside Seward city limits. If there are no city residents applying, council may consider
filling the seats with non-residents. Application forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk and on the City
Council Meetings webpage.
