The following Resolutions were approved:
Resolution 2026-038: Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a Contract for the Construction of the Elm Street
Water Main Replacement with Metco Alaska, LLC for an Amount Not to Exceed $263,736 Plus a 10%
Contingency
Resolution 2026-039: Repealing Resolution 2026-023 and Replace to Add Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. as the
Project Manager for the Nash Road Electrical Easement Acquisition Project and Reaffirming Authorization for
Professional Services Agreements and Appropriation of Funds
Resolution 2026-040: Approving a Revised Financial Disclosure Form for Appointed and Elected Officials
[Sponsored by the City Clerk]
Resolution 2026-041: Approving an Update to the City of Seward Fee Schedule to Include Additional Campground
Fees [Amended to remove $1.50 for dump fee service charge per RV reservation]
Resolution 2026-042: Authorizing the City Manager to Purchase Transformers from General Pacific, Inc for
Electric System Improvements in an Amount Not to Exceed $62,080
Resolution 2026-043: Authorizing the City Manager to Accept a Loan with the Alaska Department of

The April 13, 2026 City Council Meeting Minutes were approved.
There were no grounds for protest to the AMCO Liquor License Renewal and Transfer for Zudy’s Café.
Council directed administration to research unencumbered earnings of the long-term care facility bond and bring
back a report for council review.

Council directed administration to schedule a joint work session with the Planning & Zoning Commission to
discuss short-term rentals.
Council approved of a letter of support for state funding for early educator recruitment and retention to be sent to
the senate.

BOARDS & COMMISSIONS VACANCIES
Historic Preservation Commission
City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission.
The commission meets four times a year, typically on a designated Thursday in January, May, September, and
November.
There are three seats expiring [Libbrecht,Ward, and LeMaster] at the end of May 2026 and there will be three new
3-year terms available. City Council will review the new applications and make the appointments at the Tuesday,
May 26, 2026 City Council Meeting.
There is also one vacant seat available on the commission with a term set to expire May 2028.
The Historic Preservation Commission consists of seven residents of the City of Seward, and general Seward area
spanning from Lowell Point to the Tern Lake Junction on the Seward Highway, who shall be appointed by the
council. At least four seats shall be filled by residents inside Seward city limits. Application forms are available in
the Office of the City Clerk and on the City Council Meetings webpage.
