Lands to Housing Catalyst
In 2024 AHFC was allocated $4M in Statewide Housing Development Program funds to work with
public entities with land that could be made available for housing.
From 2024 to 2025, AHFC staff met with the following agencies to evaluate opportunities for
housing expansion on publicly held lands:
1) The Department of Natural Resources
2) The Alaska Mental Health Trust's Land Office
3) The Alaska Railroad
4) The University of Alaska
In 2026, an additional $8M was appropriated to AHFC to expand the work of transforming vacant
land into housing opportunities for Alaskans.
