HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1968-730 r . __ ...,....';.":'_~ -0" '0:_ _.___ TIlE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 730 The City Council of The City of Seward, Alaska, being fully aware of and recog- nizing the problems of Alcoholism appointed a committee of local residents to study and make recommended possible legislative action along with local and state programming which would perhaps assist in resolving certain alcoholism problems within the State. The committee after many hours of study and consideration submitted their report to the City Council and urged that their resolutions be adopted as the first move in alleviating alcoholism problems within Alaska and the area. RESOLUTION NO.2 SUBMITTED BY STEERING COMMITI'BE ON ALCOHOLISM: WHER EAS: the problem of chronic alcoholism constitutes only one of the prob- lems facing the Public Health Officer for the State of Alaska; and WHER BAS: there is now a void in the process by which a person suffering from chronic alcoholism may be so certified and subjected to proper treatment. nIEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Seward City Council recommend to the State Department of Health, to the State Steering Committee on Alcoholism, and to Representative Irwin Metcalf and Senator W. I.
