THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 731
The City Council of The City of Seward, Alaska, being fully aware of and recog-
nizing the prOblems of Alcoholism appointed a committee of local residents to
study and malte recommended pOSSible legislative action along with local and
state programming which would perhaps assist in resolving certain alcoholism
prOblems within the State.
The committee after many hours of study and consideration submitted their
report to the City Council and urged that their resolutions be adopted as the first
move in alleviating alcoholism problems within Alaska and the area.
RESOLUTION NO. 5 SUBMITTED BY STEER INO COMMITTEE ON ALCOHOLISM:
WHERBAS: there are no separate facilities on the Kenai Peninsula for the
adequate treatment of the chronic alcoholic; and
WHER BAS: such a facility would permit a better chance for effective treatment
and possible cure of the chronic alcoholic;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Seward City Council take steps to

secure for the Seward Hospital complex!a separate facility designed solely for
