THE CITY OF SEWARD
RESOLUTION NO. 809
WHEREAS, it appears that large docks for serving the City
of Anchorage are not feasible and
WHEREAS, it is imperative that more information about the
feasibility of dredging in Cook Inlet in order to permit
more vessels to service ~~chorage while other Alaskan ports
go relatively unused is required, and
WHEREAS, this situation causes an unbalanced economic
pattern of grot-Tth end development that hinders State resi-
dents in area3 other than Anchorage, and
WHEREAS, the ex~enditure of public funds would appear to be
unwise for this purpose at the present time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Seward, Alaska, that this body is opposed to the
proposed dredging in Cook Inlet, north of Fire Island, and
also opposes the expenditure of public funds to study this
project.
