CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 78-32
A RESOLUTION RENAMING SEVENTH AVENUE
TO BALLAINE BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, brothers John and Frank Ba1laine had a major role in
the establishment and growth of Seward, and
WHEREAS, during 1978. the year of Seward's 75th Anniversary, it
is appropriate to show appreciation to the Ballaine brothers' contributions
to Seward's past, present and future, and
WHEREAS, the street now designated as 7th Avenue is the last
in the series of numerically named avenues in the City and it would not
be disruptive to rename the street, it being the eastern-most street in
the City of Seward, bordering Resurrection Bay;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that 7th Avenue shall hereafter be designated as Ba1laine
Boulevard, the distance from the southern point where the Boulevard meets
Railway Avenue to the northern point where the Boulevard joins with 4th Avenue.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 10th day of Ju1v , 1978.
