RESOLUTION 99-057
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING TWO-HOUR PARKING TIME LIMITS IN THE
DOWNTOWN CORRIDOR BY EXCLUDING FOURTH AVENUE BE-
TWEEN CHURCH STREET AND JEFFERSON STREET
WHEREAS, in Resolution 98-037 the City Council established two-hour parking time limits
in the downtown corridor to pro actively deal with potential parking problems; and
WHEREAS, a public street parking time limit can be implemented by resolution of the City
Council in accordance with City Code section 11.15.92; and
WHEREAS, even though the time limits were successful, following a year of experience
with the parking impacts in the downtown corridor, it is necessary to address any changes that need
to be made; and
WHEREAS, a request was received from the community to have the time limit restrictions
removed on Fourth Avenue between Church Street and Jefferson Street; and
WHEREAS, actual usage of the parking spaces along Fourth Avenue between Church Street
and Jefferson Street warrant the removal of the restriction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The two-hour parking time limits established in Resolution 98-037 are amended
to designate that the parking time restriction is no longer in effect on Fourth A venue between Church
Street and Jefferson Street.
Section 2. All other provisions of Resolution 98-037 remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14
day ofJune, 1999.
