CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTURE
FROM STANDARD CITY LEASE PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the City of Seward received a ship yard development proposal from
Seward Ship's Chandlery in December, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to explore the possibility of entering into a
new lease with Seward Ship's Chandlery at the Seward Marine Industrial Center; and
WHEREAS, the administration has been directed to enter into negotiations for a
potential lease with Seward Ship's Chandlery; and
WHEREAS, the city has established formal lease procedures as set forth In
Resolution No. 84-114; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 84-114 provides that the Council may waive all or part
of lease procedures as it deems necessary to ensure successful lease negotiations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the public interest to not require strict
adherence to all of the lease procedures contained in Resolution No. 84-114;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Section 2.A-C of the provision contained in Resolution No. 84-114
regarding the 1990 Seward Ship's Chandlery proposal is hereby waived.
Section 2. Councilmembers Bencardino and White are hereby appointed to attend
and observe the negotiations between the City of Seward and Seward Ship's Chandlery.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
10th day of February, 1992.
