RESOLUTION 2001-163
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF LOT 16, BLOCK 11,
LAUBNER ADDITION FOR THE AMOUNT OF $15,000 PLUS CLOSING
COSTS, FOR INCLUSION IN TWO LAKES PARK
WHEREAS, on September 10, 2001, the City Council approved Resolution 2001-114
authorizing the City Manager to negotiate the acquisition of Lot 16, Block 11, Laubner Addition for
inclusion in Two Lakes Park; and
WHEREAS, the owners of Lot 16, Block 11, Laubner Addition have agreed to sell the
property to the City of Seward for a price of$I5,000, plus closing costs; and
WHEREAS, acquisition of this property is consistent with the City of Seward
Comprehensive Plan and the Parks and Recreation Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the remaining funds in the now-closed Two Lakes Park - Land and Water
Conservation Fund Grant will be used to purchase the property; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission supported the acquisition of this property
for inclusion in Two Lakes Park; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing meeting the requirements of Seward City Code 97.05.125 was
held on December 10,2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section L The City finds it in the public interest to acquire Lot 16, Block 11, Laubner
Addition for inclusion in Two Lakes Park in order to maintain a natural buffer between the new Two
Lakes Park access trail and adjacent residential development
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to proceed with the acquisition of Lot 16, Block
11, Laubner Addition, for a purchase price of $15,000, plus closing costs, in accordance with the
purchase agreement, attached hereto and included by reference, which outlines the essential terms
and conditions of the sale.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized and directed to negotiate and execute all
documents on behalf of the City as are necessary to complete the acquisition including, but not
limited to, a real estate purchase and sale agreement, closing instructions, warranty deed, and all
documents necessary to complete the acquisition.

Section 4. This resolution shaH take effect 30 days after passage and posting as required by
Seward City Code ~ 7.05.140.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th
day of December, 2001.
