RESOLUTION 99-147
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, RECOMMENDING THE CITY MANAGER BE AUTHORIZED
TO PURCHASE TWO SURPLUS VEHICLES FROM THE STATE OF
ALASKA FOR A TOTAL PRICE OF $20,000.00.
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has a surplus pickup and a surplus flatbed truck in good condition
which they are selling for $11,000 and $9,000 respectively; and
WHEREAS, the opportunity to purchase these trucks is limited since other communities also want
to purchase them; and
WHEREAS, we currently have two very old vehicles which these units would replace; and
WHEREAS, replaced vehicles can be sold for approximately $1,000 each; and
I WHEREAS, funding is available through the General Fund Balance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

Section 1. The City Manager is approved to issue a purchase order in the amount of $20,000 to
purchase two surplus vehicles from the State of Alaska, VIN Numbers IFDYK82A9mAl5842 and
IGDGC24KOPE555827.
Section 2. That funds be appropriated from the General Fund Balance Account, 101-0000-3050 to
the General Fund Street Dept. Equipment Account 101-1310-5930.
Section3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 25th day of
October, 1999.
