Sponsored by: Murphy CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 94-191 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SCHEDULE B OF THE RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE OF THE CITY OF SEWARD TO REFLECT FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS RELATED TO ELECTION RECORDS WHEREAS, on June 9, 1980, the City Council approved Resolution No. 80-29, creating a city records retention schedule; and WHEREAS, the retention schedule was amended in 1986 and in 1993 to accommodate changes made in state and city regulations regarding records retention; and WHEREAS, federal election document retention requirements set forth in 42 U.S.c. 99 1974 through 1974e, referred to as Section 1974, is a federal statute that requires election administration officials to retain all records developed by the voting process that are "requisite to voting" in elections where federal candidates were voted upon, for 22 months; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. City of Seward Records Retention Schedule B, Clerk and Governing Body, attached and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby amended. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th day of October, 1994.
