RESOLUTION NO. 92-067
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, SETTING GARBAGE AND REFUSE
SERVICE RATES AND CHARGES AND RESCINDING ALL
PRIOR RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
WHEREAS, on JANUARY 15, 1991, the Seward City Council approved Resolution
No. 91-002, setting garbage and refuse service rates and charges; and
WHEREAS, the format of this resolution makes it difficult for consumers to readily
identify all fees and rates for sewer service; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the city to present utility tariff information to the
utility customers in an easily read and understood format;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The garbage and refuse service rates and charges set forth on the rate
schedule attached and incorporated herein by reference are hereby ADOPTED.
Section 2. All prior resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby RESCINDED.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
11th day of May, 1992.

Class I encompasses all businesses including dentists, physicians and medical clinics.

NOTE:
All residential pack-out service shall be at the discretion of the garbage contractor. AU
cans must be easily accessible and within a reasonable distance from the alley, street or
utility easement. All pickups inside a fenced area shall be considered a pack-out service.

CLASS 3 - SPECIAL SERVICES
. In the event the city or the contractor is requested to enter the customer's property and/or
premises to remove garbage, except for residential pack-out service, such service may be performed
and the charge shall be twenty-five percent (25%) over the regular monthly rate.
CLASS 4 - VACANT OR UNOCCUPIED DWELLINGS AND/OR RESIDENCES
There shall be no charge assessed for residences that are vacant. Prior arrangements shall be
made with the city by making written application for garbage service to be discontinued because of
vacancy, provided the residence is to be unoccupied three (3) weeks or longer in anyone (1) month.
CLASS 5 - MUNICIPAL SERVICE
Municipal Service Rate:
$1.00 per Can
CLASS 6 - TIME AND EOUIPMENT RATES
One Truck and One Man:
$60.65/Hour

One Truck and Two Men:
$91.30/Hour
Special Pickups: (After 5:00 p.m. and
before 8:00 a.m. and anytime on Satur-
day, Sunday or holidays)
1.5 Times the Regular Hourly Rate
Minimum Charge:
1/2 Hour at the Applicable Rate
