CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-117
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT TO LOAD,
HAUL AND STOCKPILE WOOD-WASTE PRODUCT FROM THE
CHUGACH TIMBER PRODUCTS MILL
WHEREAS, on June 26, 1992, the city issued an invitation to bid on a project to
load, haul and stockpile wood-waste product (hog fuel) from the Chugach Timber
Products Mill; and
WHEREAS, this work is part of the project to repair and restore the Lowell Point
Sewage Lagoon; and
WHEREAS, six firms responded to the city's request for bids; and
WHEREAS, the bid specifications included a provision that each bidder submit
three copies of his bid; and
WHEREAS, two bidders, including the low bidder, submitted only one copy of the
bid; and
WHEREAS, the city wishes to waive this minor irregularity; and
WHEREAS, the low bid submitted by METCO, Inc., has been determined to be
responsive, and the bidder has been determined to be responsible; and
WHEREAS, monies are available in the Fiscal Year 1993 budget for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
METCO, Ine., to load, haul and stockpile wood-waste product from the Chugach Timber
Products Mill for a contract price totalling $46,900.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to establish a project budget
totalling $58,900 which includes a $12,000 project contingency.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
13th day of July, 1992.
