CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-127
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING AN AMENDED PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CH2M HILL FOR LOWELL
POINT LAGOON RESTORATION
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council previously authorized the City Manager to
award a contract to CH2M Hill to design restoration and repair work for the Lowell Point
Sewage Lagoon for an amount not to exceed $52,500; and
WHEREAS, this amount was based on a preliminary estimate of $750,000 to repair
a liner with minimum redesign or reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, a subsequent study has indicated that the construction cost of
restoration which will be acceptable to regulatory agencies will be $1,365,000; and
WHEREAS, engineering costs are commonly estimated to be approximately seven
percent (7%) of construction cost, and the contractor's original proposal of $99,537 is
approximately 7.2% of the estimated construction cost of this project; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of the contractor's agreement with the city, CH2M
Hill will be paid based on actual man hours and expensesj
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the city
an amended professional services agreement with CH2M Hill for design and repair of the
Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon for an amount not to exceed $99,537.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
27th day oOuly, 1992.
