CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-186
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE ELECTRIC TARIFF TO
PASS THROUGH TO THE UTILITY CUSTOMER A REGULATORY COST
CHARGE IMPOSED BY THE ALASKA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Alaska Public Utilities Commission (APUC) has imposed a
regulatory cost charge on electrical power generated by the Chugach Electric Association
(CEA)i and
WHEREAS, the APUC recommends that the charge be passed directly to the
customeri and
WHEREAS, the Seward Electric Utility purchases its electric power from CEAi and
WHEREAS, beginning November 1, 1992, CEA will apply a surcharge in the
amount of $O.OOO626/KWH for the regulatory cost charge to the Seward Electric Utility
wholesale power billi and
WHEREAS, this equates to about a 0.8 percent increase to the Seward residential
electric charge or 62.6 cents increase per 1000 KWH of usagei
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Page 2-3 of the City of Seward Electrical Tariff, attached and
incorporated herein by reference, is amended to allow the cost of the regulatory cost
charge by Chugach Electric Association to be passed directly to the utility customer as a
surcharge on the monthly electric bill.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
16th day of November, 1992.

Other Miscellaneous Fees and Charges: Fees and charges for existing
facilities follow on Page 4. Engineering service fees and charges for new
facilities follow on Page 5. Fees on Pages 4 and 5 are listed according to
service zone as follows:
ZONE I Inside City Limits (excluding the Small Boat
Harbor).
ZONE II City Limits to Mile 12, Seward Highway, and all
roads connecting the Highway within this area
ZONE III Mile 12 to Lawing
7. APUC Regulatory Cost Charge: A special surcharge of $O.OOO626/KWH
imposed on electrical utilities by the Alaska Public Utilities Commission in
response to the state's intent to assess user fees to support activities of the
Alaska Public Utilities Commissions and depamnents. This charge was
recommended by APUC as a pass through charge to retail utility customers.
