CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-025
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ADOPTING THE SMALL
BOAT HARBOR MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the city of Seward updated its Comprehensive Plan in 1990; and
WHEREAS, a recommendation of the Comprehensive Plan was the completion
of a Small Boat Harbor Management Plan to serve as an action guide for management
and development of the Seward Small Boat Harbor; and
WHEREAS, the increasing demand for additional commercial development,
parking and boat moorage makes it imperative that the city adopt a management plan;
and
WHEREAS, during the months of December 1992 and January 1993, numerous
meetings involving in excess of 100 individuals were conducted to discuss and develop
a Small Boat Harbor Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, on February 3,1993, the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission
conducted a public hearing and approved a resolution recommending Council approval
of the proposed management plan; and
WHEREAS, on March 8, 1993, the City Council conducted a public hearing to
solicit comment regarding the proposed plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Seward Small Boat Harbor Management Plan is hereby ADOPTED.
Section 2. Copies of this Plan will be forwarded to the Kenai Peninsula Borough
and to all appropriate state agencies.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
22nd day of March, 1993.
