CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-101
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, SUPPORTING KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH
ORDINANCE NO. 93-28, PLACING A SURCHARGE ON TELEPHONE
BILLS TO FUND ENHANCED 911 SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough has introduced Ordinance No. 93-28,
which would levy a borough-wide surcharge on local access telephone lines in order to
fund the operation of the enhanced 911 emergency systems communication system; and
WHEREAS, funding for a dispatch position within the Seward Police Department
for FY 1994 is contingent upon approval of Ordinance No. 93-28; and
WHEREAS, adequate dispatch services are necessary to ensure the life and safety
of the citizens of the city and the borough;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council and the City of Seward support approval of Kenai
Peninsula Borough Ordinance 93-28.
Section 2. Copies of this resolution shall be forwarded to Mayor Gilman and the
Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly Members.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
12th day of July, 1993.
