RESOLUTION NO. 93-181
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, RECOMMENDING THE ESTABLISH ENT
OF A SEVEN-MEMBER PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISOR BOARD
WHEREAS, the creation of a Parks and Recreation Advisory; oard will assist the
City Council in making informed decisions regarding parks and ecreation issues; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Boa will be responsible for
updating the parks master plan, communicating the council' goals to the public, relaying
community opinion to the council, acting as liaison betwee the public and the Parks and
Recreation staff and providing volunteer services for sp ial programs; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Kenai Peni sula Borough School District policy
on Community Schools in Seward, the establishme t of an advisory council is required;
and
/
WHEREAS, the establishment of a seve~member board, appointed by the council,
will benefit the community through lead~hip, planning and action on parks and
recreation issues; /

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES.6i. VED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: /

Section 1. The administra,rlon is directed to present an ordinance to establish a
seven-member Parks and Recre)il:ion Advisory Board.

Section 2. This resolJition shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
