CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 94-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO.5
TO THE CH2M HILL CONTRACT FOR SEWAGE LAGOON DESIGN
AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT
WHEREAS, in 1992, CH2M Hill was awarded a contract to provide design and
construction services for the Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon project; and
WHEREAS, the Council has previously approved a change order to provide
project management during the clean-up of the lagoon and another change order to
investigate and report on the lagoon liner failure; and
WHEREAS, although the sewage lagoon is now fully operational, a few remaining
tasks which were not part of the original contract or the two change orders must be
completed in order to comply with EPA and DEC requirements; and
WHEREAS, funding for this change order will come from available DEC and DES
loans and grants for reconstruction of the lagoon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Change Order No. 5 to the CH2M Hill contract for Lowell Point
Sewage Lagoon design and construction in an amount not to exceed $15,330 is hereby
APPROVED.
Section 2. The change order referenced in Section 1, above, shall consist of the
following tasks:
1. Prepare a plan for certification tasks;
2. Conduct a blower capacity test per DEC mandate;
3. Rewrite and update the operations and maintenance manual; and
4. Analyze test data and prepare reports for DEe.
. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
