CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-118
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO MOTOROLA
FOR THE PURCHASE OF 911 EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS
WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, as part of its enhanced 911 emergency communications
system, the Kenai Peninsula Borough has requested that the city
purchase and install new equipment in its newly renovated police
dispatch center; and
WHEREAS, the 911 emergency communications equipment must
interface with the Motorola equipment already in place in the new
dispatch center; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of an invoice for purchase of the
equipment from the city, the borough will reimburse the city of
full cost of the equipment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to waive formal bid
procedures for the purchase of 911 emergency communications
equipment for the city.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a
purchase order to Motorola in the amount of Fourteen Thousand, Five
Hundred Fifty-Two Dollars ($14,552.00) for the purchase of the
needed 911 emergency communications equipment.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized to accept
reimbursement for this purchase from the Kenai Peninsula Borough,
such reimbursement to be appropriated to Account No. 101-1210-
5930-0000. Further, the general fund budget for the city of Seward
shall be amended accordingly.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 25th day of September, 1989.
