RESOLUTION NO. 90-014
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, TO REQUEST CONTINUED SUPPORT OF
A NAVY HOMEPORT FACILITY IN AN ALASKAN COMMU TY
WHEREAS, the Alaska State Legislature ha

connected by transportation routes in terms of provision of
supplies, materials and co and
WHEREAS, the interes of the United States Navy in this state
should not be allowed to iminish due to lack of funding to provide
follow-up in the inves gation stages of this project; and

NOW, T EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD ALASKA, that:
Se tion 1. The City of Seward encourages the Alaska State
Legis ture to continue its support of a Navy homeport in this
stat and maintain a visible, positive attitude toward this project
in e spirit of previous resolutions encouraging the united States
Na to select Alaska as a base for Navy vessels.

RESOLUTION NO. 90-014
Section 2. The City of Seward encourages the Legislature to
appropriate funding of $750,000 toward the costs of an environmen-
tal impact study to investigate Seward and Kodiak as a potential
homeport site.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 12th day of February, 1990.
