CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-136
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING THE SURPLUSED FLOAT
SECTIONS FROM X-FLOAT TO SEWARD SHIP'S DRYDOCK
WHEREAS, on August 30, 1996, the City issued a request for proposals for the disposition
of the surplused float sections from X-Float; and
WHEREAS, proposals were received from Seward Ship's Drydock (SSD) and from Quality
Marine of Alaska (QMA); and

for repair work on vessels, the QMA proposal would require an up-front investment by the City
estimated at $135,600 to be repaid by QMA over a 5-year period; and
WHEREAS, because of various financial pressures and needs within the Harbor Enterprise
Fund, the Harbor cannot afford to make a grant or loan to QMA as provided in its proposal; and
WHEREAS, SSD proposes to establish new dock space for the City at no expense to the
City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
