CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-142
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH THE
SEWARD PHOENIX LOG FOR CITY DISPLAY ADVERTISING
WHEREAS, the city's contract with The Phoenix Loq for the
purchase of display advertising for City Council Agendas and Parks
and Recreation Department schedules expires on November 30, 1990;
and
WHEREAS, The Loq has offered to enter into another one-year
contract with no change in rates charged; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to publish Council
Agendas and Recreation Schedules in the local newspaper;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The one-year contract for the purchase of display
advertising in The Seward Phoenix Log, a copy of which is attached
and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 26th day of November, 1990.

The contract holder agrees to purchase a minimum of 250 column inches of advertising
space at a cost of $ $4.60 per column inch during the period beginning Dec. 1, 1990 and
ending Nov. 30, 1991 . Any additional advertising space purchased will also be charged at this
same rate. If fewer column inches of advertising space are purchased within the agreed period, contract
holder will be billed the difference between the regular rate of $ $5.75 per column inch and the
above contract rate for the advertising space that was purchased.
It is understood that all ad copy is subject to the publishers approval.
All advertisements containing personal names, illustrations, testimonials or references are
acceptable by the publisher, but only on the understanding that the agency or advertiser submitting the
same have secured the proper written consent of said living persons involved, and may lawfully publish
the same. The advertiser and/or advertising agency jointly and severa1ly agree to indemnify the publisher
for any loss, liability and expense arising out of said publication.
All advertisements composed by the Seward Phoenix LOG are the property of the Seward Phoenix
LOG and permission must be obtained from the Seward Phoenix LOG to reproduce any advertisement
or part of any advertisement in any other publication or form (ie: posters or flyers).
Non-typewritten ad copy cannot be guaranteed for accuracy.
The Seward Phoenix LOG will guarantee placement of ads only if they are submitted by noon on
the Monday preceding publication.
Speclallnstructioos
(Size of ad, position, etc.) Council agenda may be submitted after the noon Monday
deadline, but before 5:00 p.m. the day preceeding publication (usually Wednesday).
All other display advertising must be submitted by deadline.

built the ship near Seward with A/asko timber. The ship was Uzunched in 1794 at Tonsina Point 0fI Resurrection Bay.
