CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-048
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING THE REVISED PRISON
CONSTRUCTION BUDGET AND SETTING FINAL COMPLETION
PROJECT PRIORITIES
WHEREAS, the Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward (SCCC)
has been constructed for the state of Alaska by the city of Seward
under the terms of the proj ect Management Services Agreement
between the city and the Department of Transportation and Public
Facilities: and
WHEREAS, under the terms of the Agreement, DOT/PF has managed
the construction of the project; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the city, DOT/PF and the Depart-
ment of Corrections have met to discuss final work necessary to
complete the construction project: and
WHEREAS, there are currently no known outstanding claims
against the project: and
WHEREAS, the construction fund balance now totals $655,856,
less obligations of $9,900 and city unrecorded administrative fees
of $5,000, for a total uncommitted balance of $640,956; and
WHEREAS, there are insufficient funds in the construction fund
to cover the cost of the four remaining remedial projects necessary
to complete the project: and
WHEREAS, Department of Corrections has some funds available to
aid in completion of this remedial work:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The following projects are hereby identified as
priority completion projects:
1. Rusty Window Repair .......................... $175,000
2. Motorpool roof repair ........................ 30,000
3. Damp Proofing Remedial Work .................. 113,000
