CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-060
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING RATES AND CHARGES
FOR WATER SERVICE COMMENCING JULY 1, 1990
WHEREAS, section 14.01.040 of the Seward City Code requires
that water rates and charges be set by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the city of Seward established rates for water use
by adopting Resolution No. 89-055; and
WHEREAS, the revenue derived from the rates and charges
established for Group D, Metered Commercial and Industrial Service,
and Group E-2, Ship Water, are not sufficient to pay for the cost
of service for those customer groups because actual sales are less
than projected in the 1989 study; and
WHEREAS, the water utility has found it necessary to borrow
from the General Fund to pay the cost of providing minimum
essential services, operations and maintenance of the utility;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Resolution No. 89-055, Section 2, Group D, Metered
Commercial and Industrial Service, is hereby amended iby substitut-
ing the rates listed below.

* The consumption metered on several
metered services serving the same owner will
not be combined to calculate the monthly bill.
Each will be computed as a separate bill.
Section 2. Resolution No. 89-055, Section 2, Group E, Special
Rates and Fees, Paragraph 2, Ship's Water, is hereby amended by
substituting the following:
2. Ship water - Water furnished to tem~orarily moored
vessels.
(a) Less than 1,000 gallons from Seward Small Boat
Harbor Facilities not requiring city assistance or
use of fire hydrants - NO CHARGE
(b) All service not included above:
* Basic Charge $ 50.00
* When outside of normal Harbor Department
business hours, the charge shall be S100.00 PLUS
$2.50 per each 1,000 gallons in excess of the first
1,000 gallons.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect July 1, 1990.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 11th day of June, 1990.
