CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-081
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, REJECTING ALL BIDS SUBMITTED
FOR THE RELOCATION OF THE SPRING CREEK DRAINAGE DITCH
WHEREAS, a request for bids from qualified contractors to
relocate Spring Creek Ditch was properly advertized; and
WHEREAS, five bids were received and, and the lowest respon-
sive and responsible bid exceeded the amount of funds available for
the project; and
WHEREAS, due to the completion date of July 15, 1990, imposed
by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the impact of other
similar work being bid by the Kenai peninsula Borough it is not
reasonable to rebid the work at this time; and
WHEREAS, it is feasible to delay the work until next spring
when a more favorable bidding an construction climate can be
expected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to reject all bids
as received for the relocation of the Spring Creek Drainage Ditch.
Section 2. The city shall issue a new invitation to bid on
this project in the spring of 1991 if the improvements are still
required at that time, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game
permit is continued, and it is in the city's best interest to rebid
the work.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to return bid
guarantees to all bidders.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 9th day of July, 1990.
