HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1991-086 . . . sponsored by: Schaefermever CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 91-086 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING A STATE GRANT FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY AND BIKE TRAIL AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS WHEREAS, the State Legislature approved a grant totalling $200,000 for design and construction of the Seward School Side- walk/Bike Trail Project: and WHEREAS, Governor Hickel amended the grant amount by deleting $40,000 from the total: and WHEREAS, the Department of Administration requires that the city accept this grant by resolution of the City Council: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: section 1. The city of Seward hereby ACCEPTS Grant No. 1/92- 012, Seward School Sidewalk/Bike Trail construction, in the amount of $160,000, and the city manager is authorized to execute the appropriate grant agreement between the city and the state of Alaska. section 2. Grant proceeds totalling $160,000 are hereby appropriated to Capital project Revenue Account No. 267-2670-4680- 0200 for the purpose of design and construction of a pedestrian walkway following the route from the Seward Highway along Resurrec- tion Boulevard, Swetmann Avenue to the Seward Jr./Sr. High School and a bicycle trail that will extend along the beach front of Waterfront Park from the Seward Small Boat Harbor to the park area at Railway Avenue and Ballaine Boulevard. section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the city council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd day of July, 1991.
