CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO HOMELAND
ENTERPRISES TO CONSTRUCT HANDICAP ACCESS TO SEWARD
GENERAL HOSPITAL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, due to the immediate need for the project and the
short time remaining in the construction season, there was
insufficient time to properly advertise a request for bids to
construct handicap access to Seward General Hospital; and
WHEREAS, a request for bids was submitted to all known local
contractors who perform concrete work similar to that required for
construction of a handicap ramp for Seward General Hospital; and
WHEREAS, funds for this project must be reappropriated from
the hospital budget to the city budget; and
WHEREAS, Homeland Enterprises submitted the low bid for the
proposed project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to waive formal bid
procedures for the construction of a handicap access ramp at Seward
General Hospital.
Section 2. The sum of $12,804.00 is hereby appropriated from
the Seward General Hospital Loan Reserve Account No. 101-3060 to
Capital Project Fund Account No. 281-2810-4680-0400 for construc-
tion of a handicap access ramp at the hospital.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
a contract with Homeland Enterprises to construct a handicap access
ramp at Seward General Hospital for an amount not to exceed
$12,804.00.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 14th day of October, 1991.
