HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1992-008 J-!o/~.3;1 Sponsored by: Schaefermeyer CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 92-008 rL A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONI COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZ E CITY ADMINISTRATION TO PROCEED WITH A PETITION FO ANNEXATION OF LAND ALONG THE SEWARD MERIDIAN VAL Y BETWEEN THE NASH ROAD AND BEAR LAKE EAS WHEREAS, the Alaska Statehood Act provid for the future growth and development of local communities through municipal ntitlement programs; and WHEREAS, because of the long range needs f the community, the city of Seward continues to support state and borough entitlem t selections of National Forest lands contiguous to the city; and WHEREAS, it is inevitable that 10 range future community growth and development; including residential, indus al and recreational, will occur within this territory proposed for annexation; and WHEREAS, the incorporation 0 this territory will enable the City to plan for the control of that development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE I RESOLVED BY THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, that: Section 1. It recomm ds that the City Council authorize and direct the city administration to prepare a etition to effect the annexation of lands described in Exhibit 1, incorporated herewith b reference, in accordance with 19 MC 10.070,19 MC 10.480, 19 MC 10.490 and 19 C 10.510, and to file this petition with the local Boundary Commission for action. Section 2. T s resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED D APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this 1st day of July, 1992.
