RESOLUTION NO. 2S=l1
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION, APPROVING THE ALASKA SEALIFE CENTER'S DIMENSION
PLANS INCLUDING EXTERIOR DESIGN, COLOR AND APPEARANCE AS REQUIRED
BY THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT ISSUED TO THE SEWARD ASSOCIATION FOR
THE ADVANCEMENT OF MARINE SCIENCE ON SEPTEMBER 23, 1994.
WHEREAS, the Seward Association for the Advancement of Marine Science (SAAMS)
was issued a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) on September 23, 1994, for the construction and
operation of the Alaska SeaLife Center; and
WHEREAS, the permittee has presented and submitted the facilities dimension plans
including the exterior design, color and appearance, to the commission for review and approval
as required by condition number three (3) of the CUP; and
WHEREAS, on May 3, 1995, the Alaska SeaLife Center design team and the Planning
and Zoning Commission conducted a joint work session at which the Commission expressed its
approval of the facility's design plans; and
WHEREAS, SAAMS has requested that the Commission provide formal verification that
Item 3 of their Conditional Use Permit has been met.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section 1. The Alaska SeaLife Center dimension plans including exterior design, color
and appearance as presented to the Commission on May 3, 1995, are hereby approved.
Section 2. The administration is directed to forward a copy of the signed resolution to the
Seward Association for the Advancement of Marine Science.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this 7th
day ofJune, 1995.
